Oyster Stuffed Roast Turkey
Ingredients
- equal parts bread crumbs and cracker crumbs, rolled fine
- salt and pepper to taste
- melted butter
- 1 pint raw oysters with their liquor
- 2 eggs, well-beaten
- 1 turkey
- browned flour for thickening gravy
Method
- 1 Mix bread and cracker crumbs with salt, pepper, melted butter, oysters with liquor, and beaten eggs to form the stuffing.
- 2 Loosely stuff the turkey and truss it securely.
- 3 Roast in a covered roaster, turning over once browned on top.
- 4 Prepare gravy using pan drippings thickened with browned flour.
