Oyster Stew In Bread Bowls
Ingredients
- 3 little round loaves
- Oysters
- Crumbs from the loaves
- A little water
- A good lump of butter
- 1 spoonful of good cream
Method
- 1 Cut off the tops of the loaves and scrape out all the crumbs.
- 2 Place oysters, crumbs, a little water, and a good lump of butter in a stew pan. Stew together for 10-15 minutes.
- 3 Stir in a spoonful of good cream.
- 4 Fill the hollowed loaves with the oyster mixture and replace the crust tops.
- 5 Place in a moderate oven (350°F) to crisp.
