Oyster And Biscuit Stew
Ingredients
- 1 quart oysters in their own liquor
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- cold milk
- 2 small cups boiling water
- salt and pepper
- light biscuit dough
Method
- 1 Scald oysters in their liquor, then remove and keep hot.
- 2 Whisk butter and flour, then moisten with cold milk.
- 3 Add boiling water to oyster liquor, season with salt and pepper.
- 4 Stir flour mixture into the oyster liquor and cook until thickened.
- 5 Cut biscuit dough into small balls and drop into the boiling sauce.
- 6 Cover and cook until dough is done.
- 7 Place oysters on a hot dish and pour biscuit balls and sauce over them.
