Ingredients

  • 1 quart oysters in their own liquor
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon flour
  • A little cold milk
  • Light biscuit dough, rolled thin and cut into 1-inch squares

Method

  1. 1 Scald oysters in their liquor, skim out, and set aside.
  2. 2 Add boiling water, butter, salt, and pepper to the liquor.
  3. 3 Thicken with flour rubbed smooth in cold milk; bring to a boil.
  4. 4 Add dumplings, cover, and boil for 40 minutes.
