Oyster And Biscuit Dumpling Soup
Ingredients
- 1 quart oysters in their own liquor
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon flour
- A little cold milk
- Light biscuit dough, rolled thin and cut into 1-inch squares
Method
- 1 Scald oysters in their liquor, skim out, and set aside.
- 2 Add boiling water, butter, salt, and pepper to the liquor.
- 3 Thicken with flour rubbed smooth in cold milk; bring to a boil.
- 4 Add dumplings, cover, and boil for 40 minutes.
- 5 Add oysters, reheat, and serve immediately.
