Overnight French Bread Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 pint scalded milk, cooled
  • 2/3 cup yeast
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 quarts flour
  • small piece of butter

Method

  1. 1 Scald milk and let cool. Mix in yeast and sugar.
  2. 2 Work butter into flour. Pour milk mixture into center of flour and let stand overnight.
  3. 3 Knead dough, let rise until light, then knead again.
  4. 4 Mold rolls, let rise again, and bake.
