Overnight Cooked Oatmeal With Fruit And Nuts
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 2 1/2 cups dry oatmeal
- 1/2 cup dried fruit (raisins, cranberries, or apricots)
- 1/4 cup walnuts, lightly chopped (or pecans)
- Milk or milk alternative, for serving
- Maple syrup, for serving
- Fresh fruit, for serving
Method
- 1 Combine water, oatmeal, dried fruit, and nuts in a pot. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- 2 In the morning, place the pot on the stove over medium heat until simmering.
- 3 Reduce heat to low and cook for 10-15 minutes, adjusting time based on oat type.
- 4 Serve warm with milk, maple syrup, and fresh fruit if desired.
