  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 orange, juiced
  • powdered sugar for filling

Method

  1. 1 Preheat oven to 300°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. 2 Beat egg whites until stiff and dry. Gradually add 1/3 cup powdered sugar, beating until glossy.
  3. 3 Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon-colored, then fold into the meringue along with vanilla.
  4. 4 Sift flour and salt together, then gently fold into the batter until just combined.
  5. 5 Pipe or spoon mixture into 4.5-inch oblong shapes on the prepared sheet.
