Orange Custard With Butter
Ingredients
- 2 oranges (zest and juice)
- 1 cup water
- 4 egg yolks
- sugar to taste
- 1 walnut-sized piece butter
Method
- 1 Zest the oranges into 1 cup of water. Add the juice of the oranges and 4 egg yolks.
- 2 Add sugar to taste and strain the mixture into a saucepan.
- 3 Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.
- 4 Remove from heat and stir in a walnut-sized piece of butter until melted.
- 5 Continue stirring until the mixture cools slightly before serving.
