Ingredients

  • 2 oranges (zest and juice)
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 egg yolks
  • sugar to taste
  • 1 walnut-sized piece butter

Method

  1. 1 Zest the oranges into 1 cup of water. Add the juice of the oranges and 4 egg yolks.
  2. 2 Add sugar to taste and strain the mixture into a saucepan.
  3. 3 Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.
  4. 4 Remove from heat and stir in a walnut-sized piece of butter until melted.
  5. 5 Continue stirring until the mixture cools slightly before serving.
