Orange Angel Food Cake
Ingredients
- 6 egg whites
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- salt
- 2 teaspoons orange juice
- grated orange rind
Method
- 1 Sift sugar and cream of tartar together several times.
- 2 Mix the sifted mixture with well-beaten egg whites.
- 3 Add beaten egg yolks to the mixture.
- 4 Sift flour and salt several times and fold into the batter.
- 5 Mix in orange juice and grated orange rind.
- 6 Pour into an ungreased tube pan.
- 7 Bake at 350°F for 40 to 50 minutes.
- 8 Do not open the oven for at least 20 minutes.
- 9 Cool completely in the pan before removing.
