Onion Tart
Ingredients
- 1 quart sliced onions
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 eggs
- 3 tablespoons fine dried bread crumbs
- Salt to taste
- 3 tablespoons cream
- 1 pie crust
- 1 egg, beaten
Method
- 1 Slice onions thinly and cook in butter until soft. Let cool completely.
- 2 Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a pie tin with pie crust, turning up the edges.
- 3 Mix cooled onions with eggs, bread crumbs, salt, and cream. Spread into the crust.
- 4 Brush top with beaten egg and bake at 350°F until golden brown, about 25-30 minutes.
