Onion Tart

Ingredients

  • 1 quart sliced onions
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons fine dried bread crumbs
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tablespoons cream
  • 1 pie crust
  • 1 egg, beaten

Method

  1. 1 Slice onions thinly and cook in butter until soft. Let cool completely.
  2. 2 Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a pie tin with pie crust, turning up the edges.
  3. 3 Mix cooled onions with eggs, bread crumbs, salt, and cream. Spread into the crust.
  4. 4 Brush top with beaten egg and bake at 350°F until golden brown, about 25-30 minutes.
