Ingredients

  • 1 lb all-purpose flour
  • 1 lb granulated sugar
  • 1 lb unsalted butter
  • 10 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method

  1. 1 Preheat oven to 300°F. Grease a tube pan.
  2. 2 Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. 3 Add one-quarter of the flour and beat well.
  4. 4 Add beaten eggs one tablespoon at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition.
  5. 5 Add remaining flour and flavoring; beat until combined.
  6. 6 Bake for 1 hour 30 minutes or until a tester comes out clean.
