One Egg Sponge Cake
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 3 tablespoons water
- 2/3 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- pinch salt
- 1 egg white
Method
- 1 In a mixing bowl, cream together the sugar, egg yolk, and butter until well combined.
- 2 Add the water, flour, baking powder, and salt; beat until mixed.
- 3 Fold in the stiffly beaten egg white.
- 4 Pour into a well-greased and floured pan and bake in a slow oven (300°F) for 30 minutes.
