One Egg Shortening Cake
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 4 tbsp shortening
- 2 cups sifted flour
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp flavoring
- 3/4 cup water
Method
- 1 Beat sugar, egg, shortening, flour, baking powder, flavoring, and water hard for five minutes.
- 2 Grease and flour a loaf pan, then pour in the batter.
- 3 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for 35 minutes.
