  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons corn oil
  • 6 cups greens, shredded
  • 1 pound okra
  • 1 chili pepper, finely chopped and crushed
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup water

Method

  1. 1 In a large heavy pan, sauté the chopped onion in corn oil until golden brown.
  2. 2 Add the shredded greens, okra, crushed chili pepper, lemon juice, and 1/4 cup water.
  3. 3 Cover and simmer over low heat until the greens are tender.
