Oatmeal Porridge With Meat Broth
Ingredients
- ½ cup oatmeal
- Salt to taste
- Meat broth (liquid from boiled meat)
- Fat skimmed from broth
Method
- 1 Place half a pint of oatmeal in a bowl and add a little salt if the broth is not salty enough.
- 2 Add enough meat broth to the oatmeal to mix it to the consistency of hasty-pudding or slightly thicker.
- 3 Skim a little fat from the top of the broth and stir it into the mixture.
- 4 Serve and eat immediately, similar to how one would eat hasty-pudding.
