Oatmeal Porridge With Meat Broth

Ingredients

  • ½ cup oatmeal
  • Salt to taste
  • Meat broth (liquid from boiled meat)
  • Fat skimmed from broth

Method

  1. 1 Place half a pint of oatmeal in a bowl and add a little salt if the broth is not salty enough.
  2. 2 Add enough meat broth to the oatmeal to mix it to the consistency of hasty-pudding or slightly thicker.
  3. 3 Skim a little fat from the top of the broth and stir it into the mixture.
  4. 4 Serve and eat immediately, similar to how one would eat hasty-pudding.
