Ingredients

  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup steam-cooked oatmeal
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Additional flour as needed

Method

  1. 1 Pour boiling water over the oatmeal and let stand overnight.
  2. 2 Sift together 1 cup flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. 3 Mix dry ingredients with soaked oatmeal.
  4. 4 Add enough flour to make a batter that drops easily from the spoon.
  5. 5 Bake in buttered muffin pans.
