Nutmeg Puff Pastry Custard

Ingredients

  • 8 eggs
  • ½ lb granulated sugar
  • ½ lb unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 whole nutmeg, grated
  • 1 sheet puff pastry

Method

  1. 1 Beat the eggs until very light and fluffy.
  2. 2 Stir in the sugar, melted butter, and grated nutmeg.
  3. 3 Place the puff pastry in a shallow dish and pour the egg mixture over it.
  4. 4 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for 30 minutes.
  5. 5 Sift powdered sugar over the top and serve hot.
