Nutmeg Pound Cake With Lemon Extract
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups sugar
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 3/4 cup butter
- 8 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tbsp sour cream
- Nutmeg to taste
- Rose brandy or lemon extract to taste
Method
- 1 Cream butter and sugar, then add eggs and milk to form a pound cake batter.
- 2 Dissolve baking soda in sour cream and stir into the batter.
- 3 Season with nutmeg and rose brandy or lemon extract.
- 4 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) as you would a pound cake.
