Nutmeg Pound Cake With Lemon Extract

Ingredients

• 1 3/4 cups sugar
• 1 3/4 cups flour
• 3/4 cup butter
• 8 eggs
• 1 cup milk
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 1 tbsp sour cream
• Nutmeg to taste
• Rose brandy or lemon extract to taste

Method

1. 1 Cream butter and sugar, then add eggs and milk to form a pound cake batter.
2. 2 Dissolve baking soda in sour cream and stir into the batter.
3. 3 Season with nutmeg and rose brandy or lemon extract.
4. 4 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) as you would a pound cake.
