Nutmeg Oatmeal Gruel
Ingredients
- 1 cup oatmeal
- Cold water for soaking
- Boiling water or milk
- Salt
- Sugar
- Nutmeg
Method
- 1 Cover oatmeal with cold water, stir well, and let stand for a few minutes.
- 2 Strain the mixture, adding boiling water or milk to the strained liquid.
- 3 Stir the mixture and bring it to a boil.
- 4 Cook for five minutes or longer.
- 5 Season with salt, sugar, and nutmeg before serving.
