Mutton, Potato, And Carrot Stew
Ingredients
- 1 neck of mutton, cut into 2.5 to 3-inch pieces
- 1 tbsp butter
- 2-3 onions, chopped
- Water, as needed
- Potatoes, parboiled and halved
- Carrots, sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Method
- 1 Brown mutton pieces in butter in a saucepan, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
- 2 Add enough water to cover the meat and chopped onions. Cover closely and simmer for 2 hours.
- 3 Add more water if necessary, along with parboiled potatoes, carrot slices, salt, and pepper. Cover and cook for 1 hour until potatoes are soft but intact.
- 4 Stir in Worcestershire sauce. Ensure the gravy is thick by not adding too much water.
