Mutton And Vegetable Soup
Ingredients
- 1 pound lean mutton, chopped
- 1 small turnip, chopped
- 1 carrot, chopped
- 1 stalk celery, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 6 cups cold water
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Minced parsley
- Croutons for serving
Method
- 1 Chop together 1 pound lean mutton, 1 small turnip, 1 carrot, 1 stalk celery, and 1 onion.
- 2 Place the chopped ingredients in a pot and cover with 6 cups of cold water.
- 3 Bring to a boil, then skim off any impurities that rise to the surface.
- 4 Simmer for 45 minutes until the meat and vegetables are tender.
- 5 Season with salt and pepper, garnish with minced parsley, and serve with croutons.
