Mutton And Macaroni Stew

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon green pepper, chopped fine
  • 1 tablespoon onion, chopped fine
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup brown stock
  • 1/2 cup tomato purée
  • 1 cup cold roast mutton, cut in strips or cubes
  • 1/2 cup cooked macaroni, blanched and drained
  • 2-3 mushrooms or 1 tablespoon mushroom catsup (optional)

Method

  1. 1 Melt butter in a blazer and sauté chopped green pepper and onion.
  2. 2 Stir in flour and salt; cook until frothy.
  3. 3 Gradually add brown stock and tomato purée; boil for 2-3 minutes.
  4. 4 Set over hot water and stir in mutton and macaroni.
  5. 5 Add mushrooms or mushroom catsup if desired.
