Mustard Pickled Cucumbers

Ingredients

  • 1 peck medium cucumbers
  • 1 gallon cider vinegar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup mustard
  • 1 cup salt

Method

  1. 1 Wash cucumbers thoroughly and pack them into a stone crock.
  2. 2 Dissolve the mustard in a portion of the vinegar.
  3. 3 Mix the mustard-vinegar mixture with the remaining vinegar, sugar, and salt.
  4. 4 Pour the cold brine over the cucumbers in the crock.
  5. 5 Place a weight on top and let sit for three days before using.
