Mushroom Catsup Pot Roast

Ingredients

  • 1 round of beef
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • Butter
  • Flour
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Mushroom catsup

Method

  1. 1 Place beef in a deep pot with sliced onion and 1 cup boiling water. Cover and cook slowly for 10 minutes per pound.
  2. 2 Remove meat. Rub with butter, dredge with flour, and brown in a hot oven (425°F).
  3. 3 Strain pan juices. Season with salt, pepper, and mushroom catsup. Thicken with flour browned in butter.
  4. 4 Pour gravy over the meat and serve.
