  • 4 slices Allinson bread, toasted
  • 8 large eggs
  • 1 pint milk
  • 3 oz butter
  • 1 lb mushrooms
  • 1 small onion, chopped fine
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

  1. 1 Crush the toasted bread and soak it in the milk. Whisk the eggs and add them to the milk mixture.
  2. 2 Peel and chop the mushrooms. Fry the mushrooms and chopped onion in butter for 10 minutes.
  3. 3 Add the cooked mushrooms and onions to the egg and bread mixture. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. 4 Pour the mixture into a greased pie dish. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour.
  5. 5 Serve hot with green vegetables, potatoes, and tomato sauce.
