Mushroom And Onion Bread Pudding
Ingredients
- 4 slices Allinson bread, toasted
- 8 large eggs
- 1 pint milk
- 3 oz butter
- 1 lb mushrooms
- 1 small onion, chopped fine
- Salt and pepper to taste
Method
- 1 Crush the toasted bread and soak it in the milk. Whisk the eggs and add them to the milk mixture.
- 2 Peel and chop the mushrooms. Fry the mushrooms and chopped onion in butter for 10 minutes.
- 3 Add the cooked mushrooms and onions to the egg and bread mixture. Season with salt and pepper.
- 4 Pour the mixture into a greased pie dish. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour.
- 5 Serve hot with green vegetables, potatoes, and tomato sauce.
