Molasses Raisin And Nut Bread
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons melted Crisco
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup sour milk
- 2/3 cup New Orleans molasses
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 cups graham flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup sultana raisins
- 1 cup chopped nut meats
Method
- 1 Beat eggs and sugar together for five minutes.
- 2 Add molasses, baking soda mixed with milk, salt, flours, raisins, and nuts. Mix well.
- 3 Turn batter into a greased and floured cake tin.
- 4 Bake in a slow oven (300°F) for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
