Molasses Raisin And Nut Bread

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons melted Crisco
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup sour milk
  • 2/3 cup New Orleans molasses
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups graham flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup sultana raisins
  • 1 cup chopped nut meats

Method

  1. 1 Beat eggs and sugar together for five minutes.
  2. 2 Add molasses, baking soda mixed with milk, salt, flours, raisins, and nuts. Mix well.
  3. 3 Turn batter into a greased and floured cake tin.
  4. 4 Bake in a slow oven (300°F) for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
