Molasses Nut Brownies
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 1/3 cup molasses
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Method
- 1 Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease small tins or a sheet pan with shortening.
- 2 Cream shortening and sugar together until well combined.
- 3 Add beaten eggs, molasses, and vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
- 4 Stir in flour, salt, and chopped nuts until just incorporated.
- 5 Spread batter into prepared tins or pan. Bake for 30 minutes.
- 6 Cool completely and cut into squares if baked in a sheet pan.
