Molasses Ginger Snaps
Ingredients
- 2 cups molasses
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup Crisco
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 teaspoons powdered ginger
- 1 teaspoon powdered mace
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons boiling water
- Flour
Method
- 1 Cream Crisco and sugar together.
- 2 Add molasses, spices, salt, and soda mixed with boiling water.
- 3 Add sufficient flour to make a stiff paste.
- 4 Roll out thin, cut with a small cutter, and place on greased baking sheets.
- 5 Bake in a 425°F oven for 5 to 7 minutes.
