Molasses Chocolate Caramels

Ingredients

  • 1 cup molasses
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ pound chocolate, finely chopped
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 heaping tablespoon butter

Method

  1. 1 Combine molasses, sugar, chocolate, milk, and butter in a saucepan.
  2. 2 Boil the mixture, stirring constantly, until it hardens when dropped into cold water.
  3. 3 Pour the hot caramel into shallow pans to cool.
  4. 4 Once cooled, cut the caramel into small squares.
