Ingredients

  • 1 dozen apples
  • 1 lb shortcrust pastry
  • moist sugar

Method

  1. 1 Pare the apples and remove the cores.
  2. 2 Fill the holes with moist sugar.
  3. 3 Cover each apple with a piece of shortcrust pastry, drawing the paste over the fruit without rolling it flat.
  4. 4 Wet the edges of the pastry to seal them.
  5. 5 Place dumplings on a greased tin and bake for 45-60 minutes.
