Mincemeat Pie With Egg Wash
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp sugar
- 3/4 cup shortening
- 6 tbsp water
- 1.5 lbs mincemeat
- 1 egg, beaten
Method
- 1 Sift together flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar in a mixing bowl.
- 2 Rub in shortening, then mix with water to form a dough.
- 3 Divide dough, roll out, and line a pie plate with the bottom crust.
- 4 Fill with mincemeat, cover with top crust, and seal edges.
- 5 Brush with beaten egg and bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for 45 minutes.
