Milk Pie With Meringue
Ingredients
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tsp flour
- 3 egg yolks
- Grated nutmeg, vanilla, or lemon extract
- 1 pre-baked pie crust
- 3 egg whites
- 3 tbsp powdered sugar
Method
- 1 Beat milk, sugar, flour, and egg yolks together in a saucepan.
- 2 Add flavoring of choice. Boil while stirring constantly for 20 minutes until thickened.
- 3 Pour the hot filling into a pre-baked pie crust.
- 4 Beat egg whites with powdered sugar to form a meringue. Spread over the hot filling.
- 5 Bake until the meringue is puffed and golden brown.
