Milk Bread Rolls
Ingredients
- 1 pint milk
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cake yeast
- 1/2 cup lukewarm water
- flour as needed
Method
- 1 Scald 1 pint of milk, then pour it over 1 tablespoon butter, 1 tablespoon sugar, and 1 teaspoon salt.
- 2 Let the mixture cool until nearly cold. Dissolve 1/4 cake of yeast in 1/2 cup lukewarm water and add to the milk mixture.
- 3 Add flour to create a stiff dough. Knead until smooth and elastic.
- 4 Cover the dough and let it rise overnight until morning.
- 5 Shape into loaves or rolls. Let rise a second time.
- 6 Bake loaves for 40-50 minutes and rolls for 15-20 minutes.
