  • Water for boiling
  • Milk
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • A bit of mace
  • Butter

Method

  1. 1 Slice cabbage into thin shreds and cook in rapidly boiling water for 15 minutes.
  2. 2 Drain the water, then cover the cabbage with milk, salt, pepper, and mace.
  3. 3 Cook until tender and the milk has reduced to just moisten the cabbage.
