Mayonnaise Stuffed Tomatoes With Celery And Walnuts

  • large ripe tomatoes
  • finely cut celery
  • minced onion
  • mayonnaise
  • parsley sprigs
  • English walnuts

Method

  1. 1 Scald, drain, skin, and chill large ripe tomatoes. Cut a slice off the blossom end and scoop out the pulp.
  2. 2 Drain the tomato pulp and mix it with an equal quantity of finely cut celery and a little minced onion.
  3. 3 Mix the vegetable mixture with mayonnaise, then fill the tomato shells.
  4. 4 Top with a spoonful of stiff mayonnaise and garnish with a sprig of parsley or an English walnut.
