Maple Syrup Cornmeal Bannocks
Ingredients
- 2 cups boiling water
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons maple sugar
- 4 tablespoons syrup
- ¾ cup cornmeal
Method
- 1 Combine boiling water, salt, maple sugar, syrup, and cornmeal in a saucepan.
- 2 Cook until the mixture forms a thick cornmeal mush, then let it cool.
- 3 Spread the mixture very thin on a well-greased baking sheet.
- 4 Brush with melted shortening and bake in a hot oven (425°F) until done.
