Maple Sugar Cake With Maple Frosting
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 ½ cups maple sugar
- ½ cup cream
- 1 egg white
Method
- 1 Preheat oven to 350°F. Cream butter and sugar, then beat in eggs.
- 2 Mix in flour and baking powder, then divide batter between two cake tins.
- 3 Bake until done, then remove from tins to cool completely.
- 4 For frosting, boil maple sugar and cream until thick, then beat until creamy.
- 5 Beat in the egg white and continue beating until the frosting is thick.
