Maple Sugar Cake With Maple Frosting

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 ½ cups maple sugar
  • ½ cup cream
  • 1 egg white

Method

  1. 1 Preheat oven to 350°F. Cream butter and sugar, then beat in eggs.
  2. 2 Mix in flour and baking powder, then divide batter between two cake tins.
  3. 3 Bake until done, then remove from tins to cool completely.
  4. 4 For frosting, boil maple sugar and cream until thick, then beat until creamy.
  5. 5 Beat in the egg white and continue beating until the frosting is thick.
