Maple Brown Sugar Candy
Ingredients
- 1 cup maple sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Crisco
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup water
Method
- 1 Dissolve maple sugar, brown sugar, and water in a saucepan over heat.
- 2 Add Crisco and salt; boil until the mixture hardens in cold water or reaches 258°F.
- 3 Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- 4 Pour into Crisco-greased tins and let cool until half set.
- 5 Score into squares, then wrap in waxed paper.
