Macaroon Stripe Jam Tart
Ingredients
- 3/4 lb flour
- 5 oz sugar
- 1/2 lb butter
- 2 eggs
- jam or jelly for spreading
- icing for decoration
Method
- 1 Make a paste of flour, sugar, butter, and eggs. Roll out a portion to 1/4 inch thickness.
- 2 Press the dough into a round shallow cake pan, about 1/2 inch deep. Bake very slightly until set.
- 3 When cold, spread a thin layer of jam or jelly over the crust.
- 4 Pipe stripes of macaroon mixture over the jam using a bag and star tube.
- 5 Bake in a slow oven (300°F) until nice and brown. Add icing between stripes after baking.
