Ingredients

  • 8 oz macaroni
  • 2 oz butter
  • salt and pepper
  • 4 oz grated fine cheese
  • pastry dough

Method

  1. 1 Cook macaroni in a stew-pan with 1 oz butter, salt, pepper, and enough water to cover until dry.
  2. 2 Mix in grated cheese and remaining 1 oz butter. Let the mixture cool completely.
  3. 3 Line a deep, flat-bottomed pan with pastry dough, covering the sides and bottom.
  4. 4 Fill the pastry shell with the macaroni mixture and cover with a pastry lid.
  5. 5 Bake at 350°F for at least 30 minutes. Loosen from pan and invert onto a dish.
