Lentil Beef Spaghetti Sauce

  • 1 pound ground beef, 90% lean
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed (or 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder)
  • 1 1/2 cups cooked, drained lentils
  • 28 ounces low-sodium spaghetti sauce

Method

  1. 1 In a large saucepan, brown the ground beef. Drain the fat.
  2. 2 Add the chopped onion and crushed garlic to the meat. Cook until onions are soft but not brown.
  3. 3 Stir in the cooked lentils and spaghetti sauce. Bring to a boil, then lower heat and simmer gently for 15 minutes.
