Lentil Beef Spaghetti Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef, 90% lean
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 garlic clove, crushed (or 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder)
- 1 1/2 cups cooked, drained lentils
- 28 ounces low-sodium spaghetti sauce
Method
- 1 In a large saucepan, brown the ground beef. Drain the fat.
- 2 Add the chopped onion and crushed garlic to the meat. Cook until onions are soft but not brown.
- 3 Stir in the cooked lentils and spaghetti sauce. Bring to a boil, then lower heat and simmer gently for 15 minutes.
- 4 Serve the sauce over hot cooked spaghetti noodles.
