Lemon Zest Sponge Cake
Ingredients
- 100 g butter
- 100 g sugar
- 4 egg yolks
- 3 tablespoons milk
- lemon zest
- 4 egg whites
- 250 g flour
- 1 packet baking powder
Method
- 1 Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg yolks, milk, and lemon zest, mixing well.
- 2 Whip egg whites to stiff peaks. Fold into the butter mixture along with the flour.
- 3 Sprinkle baking powder over the batter and gently fold it in until just combined.
- 4 Pour into a buttered pan and bake in a hot oven (425°F) for 30 minutes.
