Lemon Raisin And Citron Tarts
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 lemon
- 1/4 lb chopped candied citron peel
- 1 Crisco flake pastry
- 1 egg
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 tablespoon melted Crisco
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Method
- 1 Roll pastry thin and cut out large circles.
- 2 Beat egg, then mix in sugar, melted Crisco, lemon rind and juice, salt, citron, and raisins.
- 3 Place a tablespoon of filling on each pastry circle. Wet the edges and fold over to seal, pressing gently without piercing.
- 4 Place tarts on greased baking sheets and bake in a hot oven (425°F) for 12 to 15 minutes.
