Lemon Orange Custard Ice Cream
Ingredients
- 1 quart milk
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 3 large eggs, well beaten
- Zest of 1 lemon
- Juice of 3 lemons
- Juice of 1 orange
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
Method
- 1 In a saucepan, stir cornstarch into milk until dissolved. Bring to a boil and cook for 10 minutes.
- 2 Remove from heat and stir in beaten eggs. Mix thoroughly and let cool completely.
- 3 In a bowl, combine lemon zest, lemon juice, orange juice, and sugar. Blend well.
- 4 Slowly beat the lemon mixture into the cooled custard until fully combined.
- 5 Freeze in an ice cream maker according to manufacturer instructions. Pack and let ripen for 2 hours.
