Lemon Layer Cake
Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3 cups flour
- 6 egg whites
- 1 teaspoon lemon extract
Method
- 1 Beat sugar and butter until creamy.
- 2 Slowly add milk and mix well.
- 3 Combine baking powder and flour, then gradually add to the wet mixture, mixing and beating.
- 4 Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites and lemon extract.
- 5 Pour into three round layers or a square pan and bake.
