Lemon Cream Layer Cake
Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- ½ cup cold water
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 ½ cups milk
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- pinch of salt
- frosting of choice
Method
- 1 Beat 3 eggs with 1 ½ cups powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, and ½ cup cold water.
- 2 Sift in 2 cups flour and 2 teaspoons baking powder.
- 3 Bake in layer-cake tins.
- 4 Heat 1 ½ cups milk in a double boiler.
- 5 Beat 1 tablespoon flour, 2/3 cup sugar, 2 eggs, and a pinch of salt.
- 6 Gradually add egg mixture to boiling milk, stir, and cook for 15 minutes.
- 7 Flavor to taste and cool.
- 8 Assemble cake layers with filling and ice with preferred frosting.
