Lemon Brandy Custard Tart

Ingredients

  • 1 pint milk
  • ¼ pint heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 5 egg yolks
  • powdered sugar to taste
  • 1 lemon, grated peel
  • 2 tbsp brandy
  • 1 sheet puff pastry

Method

  1. 1 Boil milk and cream in a saucepan.
  2. 2 Whisk flour and water into a smooth paste, then stir into the hot milk to thicken.
  3. 3 Remove from heat and whisk in egg yolks, sugar, lemon peel, and brandy.
  4. 4 Line a dish with puff pastry and pour in the custard mixture.
  5. 5 Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes until set.
