Lemon Almond Cake
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup butter
- 4 eggs
- 1 tablespoon milk (if needed)
- ¼ pound almond nuts, chopped fine
- 2 ounces lemon peel
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup flour
Method
- 1 Whip butter and sugar together until creamy.
- 2 Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- 3 Stir in milk if needed, then fold in chopped almonds and lemon peel.
- 4 Sift in baking powder and flour, mixing until just combined.
- 5 Pour into a prepared pan and bake in a moderate oven (350°F) until done.
