Lemon Almond Bread Pudding
Ingredients
- 1 pint rich milk
- ½ cup grated stale bread crumbs
- 1 heaping tablespoon butter
- Lemon peel, grated
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon blanched almonds, chopped
- 2 eggs, beaten
Method
- 1 Bring milk to a boil in a saucepan.
- 2 Stir in bread crumbs, butter, lemon peel, sugar, and almonds.
- 3 Remove from heat and temper beaten eggs by stirring in a little milk mixture.
- 4 Pour egg mixture back into saucepan and stir well.
- 5 Pour into a pudding dish and bake in a water bath at 350°F for 20 minutes until firm.
