Lemon Almond Bread Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1 pint rich milk
  • ½ cup grated stale bread crumbs
  • 1 heaping tablespoon butter
  • Lemon peel, grated
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon blanched almonds, chopped
  • 2 eggs, beaten

Method

  1. 1 Bring milk to a boil in a saucepan.
  2. 2 Stir in bread crumbs, butter, lemon peel, sugar, and almonds.
  3. 3 Remove from heat and temper beaten eggs by stirring in a little milk mixture.
  4. 4 Pour egg mixture back into saucepan and stir well.
  5. 5 Pour into a pudding dish and bake in a water bath at 350°F for 20 minutes until firm.
