Ingredients

  • Leftover cooked turkey or chicken meat, chopped fine
  • Water (to cover)
  • Leftover gravy from fowls
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped celery
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Butter
  • Flour (optional, for thickening)
  • Onion, sliced (optional)

Method

  1. 1 Chop the leftover meat fine and place it in a small iron pot or stew pan.
  2. 2 Cover the meat with water and add any leftover gravy.
  3. 3 Season with salt and pepper, then add chopped celery, breadcrumbs, and a lump of butter.
  4. 4 If a thicker consistency is desired, dust in a little flour. Optionally, add sliced onion.
